EWSIM is ideally suited for standalone or distributed Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) training, and is used by a variety of customers throughout the JTAC community for scenario and entity generation including both pilot-in-the-loop and constructive 9-Line training.
EWSIM is capable of generating all the entities required for robust JTAC training, including both constructive and fully flyable aircraft, as well as a wide variety of ground vehicles and life forms. EWSIM includes physics based aerodynamic models for aircraft and weapons (air-to-ground, air-to-air and surface-to-air missile fly-outs and ballistic models for bombs and projectiles) as well as intermediate damage states including firepower and mobility kills. In addition, EWSIM includes 9-Line, 5-Line and Call for Fire interfaces that make it extremely simple to call in close air support or artillery fire.
EWSIM's Flyable Aircraft Include Both Fixed and Rotary Wing Entities; Aircraft tasked via 9-Line or 5-Line can be piloted, or EWSIM-controlled for JTAC training with no pilot-in-the-loop. Below are several sample Pilot Station configurations:
